Committee on State Affairs 1-888-997-5068 : Hi, my name is _____ and I'm calling to urge the Committee on State Affairs to go on the record rejecting Senate Bill 4. I'm asking that you stand with the immigrant community in Texas by opposing this bill. Increased mistrust in law enforcement will not keep us safe and will only drive undocumented crime victims and witnesses into the shadows - making all Texans less secure.
Senator Charles Perry 1-855-336-0858 : Hi, my name is _____ and I'm calling to voice my opposition to Senate Bill 4 that Charles Perry is responsibile for creating. Increased mistrust in law enforcement will not keep us safe and will only drive undocumented crime victims and witnesses into the shadows - making all Texans less secure. I do NOT support this bill. You: Hello, my name is______, a resident of _______, Texas, registered to vote and a constituent of Governor Abbott / Lt. Governor Patrick.
I am calling to express my opposition to Senate Bill 6, “the Privacy Protection Act” which was filed by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and State Senator Lois Kolkhorst. Senate Bill 6 is prejudicial, completely unnecessary, and as demonstrated by the similar bill in North Carolina, potentially detrimental to our state’s economy.
IF YOU WANT TO ADD MORE:
This current piece of legislation is only going to scapegoat transgender people as some sort of predator.
What’s worse is that this will make people start targeting women and girls who *are not* transgender just because they have short hair or don’t look feminine enough. We don’t need big government potty police in Texas.
Will Governor Abbott / Lt. Governor Patrick oppose this piece of legislation?
[IF THE AIDE SAYS YES:]
You: That’s great! I really appreciate the governor’s ______’s opposition to this bill.
[IF THE AIDE SAYS NO OR THEY DON’T KNOW:]
You: I urge Governor Abbott / Lt. Governor Patrick to consider this, and remember what happened in North Carolina when they enacted a similar law. And what happened to the Governor who signed that law. Thank you.
